New Cattery Building is Ready

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue has rescued over 1,000 unwanted cats in the last 4 years.  We do this by placing cats in foster homes, getting them spayed / neutered, and then adoption in to a forever home.  To continue to do this, we needed a dedicated “Cattery” building to house adult cats in foster care, because we were not able to find individual foster homes for adult cats.

In February, 2008, we asked the community for support and raised more than the needed $8,000 by the end of May.  All donated funds in excess of those needs have been placed in our Community Spay and Neuter fund.   The building is now occupied by 16 adult cats who are all doing fine.  There is still some exterior work to do, but that does not get in the way of its use.

Thanks to all who contributed to this effort with time, materials or money.

The building was built on site by Mountain Barn Builders next to the home of Alan and Jackie Baker.  This is the "back side"

This is the covered entrance. We are still working on the font steps.

This is the work area inside the front door.  An inside door to the cattery is to the right

The right side of the cattery - showing about 1/4 of the area.
The left side of the cattery - again showing about 1/4 of the area.

Thanks, again,  to all who contributed to this effort with time,

materials or money.
