OUR PASTOR
Rev. Jerry Adams has been Pastor of Bethany Bible Church for 18 years. He is married to his faithful and loving partner in ministry, Bobbie, and has two grown daughters, Tiffany and Christy. He has a BS degree in Aeronautics Maintenance from San Jose State and a Diploma of Pastor Studies from Sacramento Bible Institute. He served as Youth Director and Assistant Pastor under the ministry of Dr. Elwood Chipchase at Wilton Bible Church, in Wilton, California for six years. He became a Missionary Pastor with Northwest Independent Church Extension and pastored a mission church in Ellensburg, Washington for six years. He became The General Director of Southwest Bible Church Mission and moved his family to Arizona. Through the Lord's leading, he became the Pastor of Bethany, one of the SBCM mission projects and, after a period of time, moved to Lake Havasu City. As the church developed and the building project became a reality, it became obvious that the church needed a full time pastor. Consequently, he resigned as General Director of SBCM and has concentrated his efforts in the work of the ministry in Lake Havasu City.
The three most important questions you will ever answer
:1. How did I get here?
You did not come into this world by chance. You are not a mistake or accident. In fact, the entire universe and everything and everyone in it are here by God's design.
2. Why am I here?
Our Creator is a fascinating Being. His attributes are multifaceted. He is infinite, eternal, and self-existent. He is holy, spirit, love, light, etc. He created man in His image as an intellectual, emotional, volitional being in order to enjoy and appreciate who He is and to fellowship with Him. If we have a correct relationship with Him, we can join the Psalmist in declaring; "...it is good for me to draw near to God, that I may declare all thy works." Pslam 73:28.
3. Where am I going?
Only those who are correctly related to God by faith in Christ will spend eternity with Him. All others will be rejected and spend eternity in conscious torment. Our basic problem is that "all have sinned", and "the wages of sin is death." (Romans 3:23; 6:23). "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8). When we genuinely believe that Christ died to pay for the guilt and penalty of our sin, we receive eternal life, and will spend eternity with Him.
