MCS Songs
Way back in the mid 1980's, three young MCS women lived in Potrero, California. With the support of her two friends, Judy (Hoffman) Black and Ellen Brief, Patti Levi composed and sang this song about their experiences. The last verse is missing, so we will add it when memory permits. In the future, we may also have the audio version for you.
Here We Sit in Potrero
music and lyrics by
Patty Levi

So here we sit in Potrero
the three most beautiful girls around,
and all the guys are no where-o,
they don't even know
that we're in town.

Verse 1

I wish that I could go dancing,
Somebody take me on a date.
But when we go,
please don't wear cologne,
and your cigarette smoking
is gonna have to wait.

Verse 2

Oh no, I can't go to the movies
Oh sorry, no, I don't drink beer
While the night's still young
let's hurry up and have some fun,
it's only an hour a day that I am clear.

Verse 3

I brush my teeth with baking soda ... more to come.

MCS Wedding
Melody from Pack Up Your Troubles in an Old Kit Bag
Song written during WWI - Lyrics by Don Kempf
Sung after wedding by father and brother of the bride,
prompted by her extensive use of foil.
Wrap up your partner in a roll of foil
and smile, smile, smile.
With a VCR to light your night-
Smile, dear that's the style.
What's the use in worrying?
It never was worthwhile!
So! Wrap up your partner in a roll of foil
And smile, smile, smile.

Anecdotes & Jokes
When it becomes necessary to explain why I sit on foil,
my husband says, "That's the way she keeps her buns fresh."
Many people wonder why EIs look so young for their age.
That's because they're so well preserved in chemicals . . .
from their chemical injury.
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor,
and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

If you can't be a good example,
then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.
Catherine Aird
When people ask about my life as an MCS/EI, I tell them,
"My wild oats have turned to shredded wheat."

Confessions of an MCS Spouse
No, I will not change my clothes and put them outside.
No, I will not step in a puddle to clean the soles of my shoes.
No, I will not put my books outside.
No, I will not wash my hands when I come in from the trailer.
But I do it anyway.
Yes, I will go to the grocery store that's convenient, though the pesticide is heavy.
Yes, I will walk and sit on the grass in the park.
Yes, I will pet the friendly dog that's been flea dipped.
Yes, I will get the better price for the lumber at the toxic store.
Oh forget it, it's not really that important.
