i try to look into the future
with an air of suspicion in my heart
for i am looking for the one
that I hope God will send 
to be my companion, a true friend for life
I look and see a young woman
someone who's beauty takes my breath away
though i can not yet see her face
nor can i even yet see her body
but it is not her physical beauty 
that will wow me and win my heart
it is who she is inside
the heart of gold, the soul of love
the one who will not forsake me
who i can love and will not have
my love tossed back in my face
