The focal point of this tour is a visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. At the library we will have an audio tour of the many areas of the museum highlighting President Reagan’s early years, his Hollywood career, his years as governor of California, and his eight years as President of the United States. We’ll walk through President Reagan’s Air Force One, a Boeing 707 magnificently displayed in it’s own building . We’ll have lunch and time to rest before exploring, on our own, more of the museum and the Reagan burial site. In addition to the Reagan Library, we will visit Gene Autry’s Museum of Western Heritage and the fabulous and elegant car museum established by the founder of Merle Norman Cosmetics, The Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar. Our final stop will be at the historic Mission Inn in Riverside for a guided tour. This beautiful hotel opened in 1880 when the owner began taking paying guests into his adobe home. Between 1902 & 1931, as finances allowed, the family would add another wing until eventually the hotel covered an entire city block. The hotel has been beautifully restored and is again the pride of Riverside. After lunch nearby, we’ll head home. We stay all three nights in the same hotel in Van Nuys. Reserve early with just $25!
