Tucson, Tombstone & Kartchner Caverns

In Tucson, we’ll view desert animals and plants at the world famous Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. We’ll drive through the Saguaro National Monument, tour the city, see the University of Arizona, and view row upon row of “mothballed” airplanes at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Kartchner Caverns opened November 12, 1999 as Arizona’s newest and most unique state park. The massive limestone cave has 13,000 feet of passages and two rooms as long as football fields. The tour requires walking about a half-mile on clear pathways over a period of 1 1/2 hours. The new park also has a very informative and interesting Visitor’s Center. Marvel at the history of the old west town of Tombstone, “the town too tough to die”. Explore the picturesque mining  town of Bisbee, and tour  historic Fort Huachuca with a visit to the Fort Huachuca Historical Museum. We’ll don hard-hats and descend deep into the earth to tour a deactivated Titan Missile Silo, a remnant of the Cold War and the only one still in existence. We’ll also visit Mission San Xavier, one of Father Kino’s missions dating from its founding in 1700. If you haven’t had the chance to see the beauty of Southern Arizona, this is the tour for you. Reserve early with just $25 per person.

Included:  Transportation, lodging, all admissions, 4 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 4 dinners
