In Memory of Dale Earnhardt

Tribute to a fallen legend...
This web page is created in memory of the late Dale Earnhardt. He was by far
the greatest NASCAR driver ever. He also posed as a role model to many. He
lived his life on the edge each and every Sunday. I have watched NASCAR for
about six years now and he was my favorite driver and will always be my favorite
driver. Even though he is gone, his presence is felt each Sunday when the green
flag is dropped. I was watching the race that day (Febuary 18, 2001) when I saw
that last lap crash. I knew something was strange. The window net did not come
down, there was no sight of movement. It was a very scary feeling. I saw the
tears in ole' DW's eyes. Those weren't tears of joy because Michael had won the
race. Darrell Waltrip had lost a great friend and he knew it. I knew I had just
lost my favorite driver too. But I promise to carry on the Earnhardt tradition
by rooting for Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Steve Park, and Kevin Harvick. I
believe RCR made a great choice by choosing Harvick as Earnhardt's replacement.
He would have been satisfied by the choice. I end this with condolences to the
Earnhardt family, his fans, and his friends. As a Earnhardt fan myself I believe
we should not stop watching races every Sunday because we have lost one great person.
Dale would want us to be there for his team not holding back emotions and trying
to avoid the pain. Lets go out there and root for the 29, 1, 15, and 8.
