Have an old 1978-87 Chevrolet El Camino, 2 door Malibu or Malibu station wagon sitting in your back yard? Always wanted a Studebaker? Now you can purchase a vinyl ester kit for $4,995 from Retro Trucks in Orlando, FL that has all the components to make your old Chevrolet look like an even older 1950 Studebaker and, according to the company, you can do it "in less than a week". |

Here's how the kit looks on a Malibu wagon. |

The owner of red coupe on the right has added 50 eyebrows to the hood of what may be another kit like the ones above. The rear fenders on this one look like they may be going "uphill" a little if you look at the detail line above the rear wheel opening.

Not sure what the 4 door station wagon
below was to start with but it looks something like a Ford Taurus to me.
This owner added Moon disks to the wheels. The rear fender bulge is less
pronounced but that could be because the fender was mounted higher on the
body so the 50 taillights would clear the rear bumper. |

The orange coupe below, seen cruising the streets of NYC, has a 51 grill with a 50 bullet. The front fenders look longer in front of the wheels and the detail line above the wheel opening is missing. It may have a tilt front end since there isn't a seam between the hood, grill panel or fenders. The rear view of the car makes me think they used real Studebaker parts and grafted them onto this one since the trunk lid doesn't match up with the body below the back window. |
