HARDTOP COUPE
1948 Studebaker Commander

This 1948 Studebaker Commander "Hardtop Coupe" has a 51 front clip, Mustang II IFS and 1937 Ford headlights. The chopped roof is from a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. They say those are 48 Mercury tail lights but they look like an aftermarket lens for the 49/50 Mercury to me. The interior is done with ultra leather and it has a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am dash. Power comes from a Chevrolet 327 TPI driving a 700R4 transmission and GM 3:73 rear end. 

It was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ in January, 2003 for $27,000 and went to a new owner in San Diego, CA.

In September, 2004 it was being auctioned on eBay and was bid up to $21,966 but the owner had a higher reserve on it so it didn't sell.
