Unknown Owner The top photo of this 47 Starlight Coupe with a 50 bullet nose front end was taken at the NSRA Nationals in Louisville, KY. I call this one a "flat top" because it looks like they took the crown out of the roof in an attempt to make it look like it's chopped. It has one piece glass in the doors and both bumpers have been removed. The (Mercury?) taillights have been frenched into the body and the door handles have been shaved. Inside is a modern dash and bucket seats with a center console and it's covered in Mocca leather throughout. This car was once advertised for sale on Hemmings' website for $115,000!

January, 2009 Update This car, called "Black Bart" by the seller, crossed the block and was sold for $55,000. It was built by "award winning Tony Carlini utilizing the finest craftsmanship and components available". While there were no details about what had been done to the body, the data sheet said the car is running a 462 ci BB Chevy, TH 400 trans and a Currie rear end. It also has different wheels in this latest version. |
