SURNAMES: BLOOD, BREED
I am researching the Blood Family of Plumas County. The HISTORY OF PLUMAS, LASSEN & SIERRA COUNTIES (Farris & Smith) provides a biographical sketch of Levi Newton Breed (b. 4-2-1835) who played a prominent role in early Lassen County history. On 9-21-1861, he married SAMANTHA BLOOD (b. 8-10-1843) of Taylorsville, Plumas County. Samantha died 8-19-1867, leaving one son, Frederick Arthur, born 5-7-1862. Samantha would have been related to John Nelson Blood, Amos Blood, William Henry Blood, and James A. Blood. The 1860 Plumas County census shows her living with James A. Blood and his wife, Cornelia Licentia, in Indian Valley; Samantha was listed to be 15 years of age at that time. Therefore, it is an assumption that Samantha was the daughter of James A. and Cornelia; however, I have not been able to find any documentation of this. Can anyone in Lassen County give me, or direct me to, any information  that may be available in Lassen Co. regarding Samantha, Levi "Newt" Breed after 1882, and any descendants of Frederick Arthur? ANY info would be very much appreciated! Jean Murray, Quincy, California.
