| HAIL STORM -- 06-12-02
FROZEN DECORATIONS FROM OUR YARD
The storm did $2000 in damage to Bob's car, but we had minor damage compared to some -- many cars in the area were totaled. My car was in the garage and was not assulted by the onslaught, so we have one vehicle to drive. Fortunately, Bob did not canceled his comprehensive coverage as he had contemplated, since he made a last car payment a few days ago. |

| We watched them crash down, explode, and hit the cars, walls, and lawn. The storm pelted our yard for about 10 minutes, and left only very large stones ranging from golf-ball to softball sizes in our yard. | Some of the larger stones shattered upon impact, but those that were intact, show a composition of several marble-sized pieces melted together in the updraft - fall-updraft cycle which forms these giant ice-balls. |
| Other neighborhoods reported small cantalope sized stones between 5 - 6" in diameter. | The hens egg to tennis-ball sized stones were mostly solid and smooth. |
