We don't replace the dustcaps due to age, wear, or anything like that. We remove and replace them so that we can insert plastic shims to keep the cone assembly properly aligned while replacing the surrounds; not only to center, but to prevent TILT! This helps prevent the voice coil from rubbing & making ugly sounds later on!

Similar to Classic cloth dustcaps, but coated with a shiny polymer based coating, to seal, protect and to stiffen. They do Not pass air, are Very neutral sounding, light, & are often found on modern speakers such as Infinity and JBL. Easier to work with than plain cloth caps.

These are Very Good caps! They are fiber based, have a random pattern, allow some heat exchange but
are not generally considered porous, are non-resonant, neutral sounding, very strong, low weight, moisture resistant, & are easy to work with. Found in McIntosh, AR, JBL.

These are some of the most basic Dust-Caps, yet still found on Many major speakers such as JBL, Advent, Bose, etc. They are light weight, strong, do Not pass air but may be slightly peaky or resonant, & some designers use them purposely to get a brighter sound. Very easy to work with.

These are the Classic cloth dustcaps! They are woven linen, so have a criss-cross "screen" pattern, are porous so they allow Air & Heat transfer. They're non-resonant, Very neutral sounding, low weight and are found on lots of classic speakers, such as AR & Advent & can be "hand coated."

This is a listing of Most of Our Available Dust-Caps
The model numbers refer to their type and size. dc means dustcap, the next letter is for material such as F= Felt CS= Cloth Screen CC= Coated Cloth P= Paper We only stock a few plastic types, which are prefaced as PL. Letters such as JBL, EM, JLA, CV, etc, would refer to special caps for JBL, Eminence, JLAudio, Cerwin-Vega. The Number refers to their decimal size in inches. For instance, 2250 would refer to a 2.250" cap or 2-1/4". 3750 would refer to a cap that is 3.750" in diameter or 3-3/4". The size includes glue flanges (IF any). The letters following the numbers, tell us what type of glue flange or lip, the dust caps have. LU means lip facing up (normal dustcaps), LD means lip facing down (to wrap around a voice coil former such as in EPI's and in Bose 901's), NL would mean No Lip, such as often used in JBL speakers, FI means the cap Fits In the top of the former. WL means Wetlook. So a part with number dcF-2750LU would be a Felt dustcap of 2-3/4" diameter (2.750") with a normal upward facing lip. A part called dcP-JBL3200NL would be a cap specifically made for JBL of paper, 3.2" in diameter with NO lip. We try to keep all of these part #'s in stock. Usually out-of-stocks only last a few days.
PLEASE Do NOT Order Dust-Caps (or Kits with them) Unless there is a Part# Listed!
Slots that are empty with a --, & without a part # mean we do NOT have a Dust-Cap Type in that Size.
