We're sorry if all the form questions seems excessive... although All of that info isn't needed for Every
speaker, we can't tell exactly what info will be needed, and what won't, until we see it. Please remember
that we're trying to match modern parts to items that may not have been made in over 30 years! We're Not
trying to make it too complicated; we're just trying to get the best possible fit... & sometimes it's not easy!
We love Pictures... so feel free to send High Resolution pics if you can (large size is NOT a problem for us);
Please lay a ruler across your speaker like in Fig #2. We also like to see pictures of your finished speakers!
We appreciate your understanding. PLEASE read the directions below & send All of The info that you can.
For Example: Typical PARTIAL info/measurements for a Real 8" speaker **might** look like this:
A: 8-1/8"   B: 7-3/4"   C1: 7-1/4"   C2: 7-1/8"   D: 6"   E: 5-1/2"   F: 2"   Note that each number gets smaller.
Please notice that dimensions like:   A: 8"   B: 7"   C1: 1/4"   C2: 5/8"   D: 7"   E: 9"   F: 2"   would be wrong!!!
There is More Information we Need to properly fit your speaker!  so Please read on,
AND PLEASE INCLUDE ALL OF THE INFO REQUESTED ON "THE FORM"... THRU ITEM "N":

HOW  TO  REFOAM

FIRST OF ALL, IF YOU'RE NOT REALLY FAMILIAR WITH SPEAKER PARTS & LINGO...  PLEASE LOOK AT THE SPEAKER DIAGRAM AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE TO LEARN THE NAMES OF THE PARTS.  IF YOU'VE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, YOU CAN CLICK HERE TO PRINTOUT "THE FORM".  RETURN BY USING YOUR BROWSER'S BACK BUTTON

THE MOST IMPORTANT INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THE A: FRAME SIZE, SO YOU'LL KNOW WHICH KIT TO ORDER.  BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FRAME MEASUREMENT WE NEED, IS THE SIZE AVAILABLE FOR THE SURROUND.  SO IF YOUR FRAME HAS A "TRIM FLANGE" OR OTHER COSMETIC DETAIL... DO NOT MEASURE THAT PART.  JUST MEASURE ACROSS THE AREA THAT'S AVAILABLE FOR GLUING DOWN THE GASKET & SURROUND. IN THE EVENT THAT YOUR FRAME ISN'T ROUND (FIG 2) MEASURE INSIDE THE NARROW PART, WHERE THE SURROUND MUST REST.  SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO SEE  B: THE OUTSIDE FOAM DIAMETER  IF IT'S COVERED BY A GASKET;  LOOK INSIDE THE SCREW HOLES TO SEE IF YOU CAN SEE IT THERE...  IF NOT, TELL US THAT, BUT ASSUME THAT IT FALLS SOMEWHERE UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE GASKET.

ON THE FORM ARE LISTED TWO "C" MEASUREMENTS, C1 & C2.  C1: IS THE INSIDE GASKET DIAMETER, WHICH IS ALSO OFTEN THE SAME AS THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE FRAME FLANGE (where the gasket rests), AND  C2: IS THE OUTSIDE ROLL DIAMETER.  THEY ARE OFTEN VERY CLOSE, & ARE SHOWN IN THE PICTURE ABOVE.  THE MOST IMPORTANT MEASUREMENT IS PROBABLY  D: THE CONE DIAMETER; THIS IS ONE PLACE WHERE THE SURROUND SHOULD FIT EXACTLY.  TYPICALLY THE INSIDE ROLL WILL LAND RIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CONE EDGE.  AS SUCH, THE CONE DIAMETER AND INSIDE ROLL DIAMETER WILL OFTEN BE THE SAME.

ITEM "F" IS THE DIAMETER OF THE DUST-CAP, INCLUDING ANY MOUNTING FLANGES.  YOUR KIT MAY CONTAIN SLIGHTLY LARGER DIAMETER DUSTCAPS THAN THE STOCK ONES TO COVER WHAT'S LEFT OF THE ORIGINALS, SO PLEASE DONT EXAGGERATE THIS MEASUREMENT, OR YOUR CAPS MIGHT COME TOO BIG. TRY TO TELL US IF G: THE CAPS ARE PAPER, FELT, CLOTH SCREEN, OR PLASTIC.  IF the dustcaps are Cloth, Please state whether they are "plain" (porous), or "sealed" (black & shiny).  PLEASE MENTION IF YOUR CAP IS INVERTED/CONCAVE (curved inward).

THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT INFO AND THE MOST IMPORTANT WE NEED TO KNOW, IS THE
H: SHAPE OF THE FOAM WHERE IT MEETS THE CONE?  IS IT FLAT (FIG 3),  OR DOES IT ANGLE ALONG WITH THE CONE (FIG 4)?  H2: IS WHETHER YOUR SURROUND IS GLUED TO THE FRONT OR BACK OF THE CONE?

THE ROLLS IN FIGURES 3 & 4 ARE FACING "UP";  BE SURE TO TELL US IF  J: YOUR ROLL IS FACING "DOWN".  ALSO MENTION THINGS LIKE WHETHER K: YOUR CONE IS PLASTIC!
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WE CAN'T MATCH FOAM COLORS.

FINALLY BEFORE YOU EMAIL THIS INFO IN,  PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS AND  NOTE THAT EACH MEASUREMENT A thru F  SHOULD GET PROGRESSIVELY SMALLER!
ALSO CHECK THAT THEY MAKE SENSE... FOR EXAMPLE:  IF YOU SUBTRACT D FROM C1,  IS THERE ENOUGH ROOM FOR BOTH ROLLS?      THANKS!
