Question: So, why do we call our place The Shaved Dog Resort?
Answer: It really comes down to two things:
1) Our dog, Katya ("Katie" in Russian), is a mixed German Shephard, Chow and Labrador. As a result, she has the downy undercoat of a German Shephard, the spotted tongue and mane of a Chow and the face and athleticism of a labrador. Somehow, this type of mixed breed also results in no intellectual capacity whatsoever.
Katya thinks she's a lab, and thusly, spends her outside hours immersed in the lake. Her downy undercoat absorbs the water like a sponge, resulting in a dog that never is dry. This stinks. No reallly ... Katya stinks like a walking bowl of lake water that sat in 100 degree heat for a week. So, to keep her from permanent banishment from the premises- the maintenance guy (Mike) shaves Katya six or seven times a summer to remove the downy undercoat (and the horrible stink!)
The result? A dog that, at times, looks like a baboon or a really confused lion.
2) As for the 'resort' in the name, it is our way of saying you are always welcome and that we hope you make many visits to our facilities. We always enjoy visitors and take reservations year-round! We have two bedrooms and a full bathroom just for guests in the lower level.
