Tiger's
costume is a stylized Korean black dobok with red trim. It has the
symbol of a tiger on the back. His staff appears to be made of
some sort of cast iron. |
| Background: While
traveling through Korea on their tour of the Orient Charles and Martha
Worthington along with their infant son Charles II, were attacked by
cloaked figures calling themselves the Dragon's Fang clan. Charles,
being an expert marksmen began firing on the attackers, but they were
too sift and too numerous for him and quickly disarmed him. As he slowed
their attackers, Martha took their infant son into the woods where she
came across a small river. As she attempted to cross, she was killed by
a member of the Clan, but was able to safely send the infant in his
basinet floating down the river. That was the last that anyone ever saw
of Charles and Martha. Fortunately for Charles II, a hermit had been
witness to what had occurred, and was able to rescue the babe from the
river. He took the small child to his small home in the hills, and began
taking care of him.
As it turned out, the hermit was a master of the art of Hwarang-Do,
and had been in the mountains for the last 15 years ever since the death
of his wife at the hands of the leader of the Dragon's Fang Clan. He
decided that this child was a blessing from the gods; given to him to
exact his revenge on the murderer of his wife. He was getting very old,
but he knew he had enough years left to teach the child everything he
knew and get his revenge.
Over the years, however, the boy grew and as he did the master
remembered his code, and everything that his martial art stood for, and
he pasted these teachings onto his adopted son, and after many years he
forgot his feelings of vengeance and showed his son the ways of
righteousness and honor teaching him the 5-point code as well.
Just as Charles was finally become a master himself, the old master
became sick, and his days grew short. He called Charles to his bedside
and gave him a diary that he found in the Worthington's car after the
Clan had left. He told his son to go to Europe (that is where the old
master thought they were from) and learn English so that he could read
the diary and learn about his true family. The master than died and was
given a proper burial by his adopted son. Charles than set out for
Europe by merchant steamer. Since he had no money he worked his way
there. During this time he was taught to speak and read English by one
of the crewmen, and by the end of his voyage he learned that his parents
were actually Americans, and so made plans to go to the US.
Upon arriving he had a very difficult time finding employment and
finding his parents home, and his extended family so he began doing odd
jobs within the Asian community while he searched. After several
months of traveling he finally arrived home. He soon discovered that his
families wealth had been taken in a hostile takeover by some rich baron
from Germany, and know that he let them know that he was alive found
himself targeted repeatedly by assailants. To avoid his parents' fate he
went into hiding and now seeks a way to get back what was rightfully
his, and avenge his parents' loss of life and wealth, and prevent the
same fate from befalling anyone else. |
