This page was last updated: December 12, 2003 , "I want to cast magic missile." 6/3/00 The party is on their way to Tolvas' province to go to work for him maintaining the peace and running "special" assignments for him. Matras Aquas has been over for two months and we have been traveling the whole time. Rumors abound about goblin parties still harassing the countryside and we have encountered several of those and done a fabulous job eradicating the threat. We come across a traveling circus where we enlist the services of Tandorin. He is needed by Tolvas. He is a rather mysterious fellow with some peculiar habits, but he seems to be able to handle himself and so we don't have too many worries about bringing him along. That evening we encounter 2 Dire wolves, 3 goblins and 2 Drakonians who felt that their considerable number would be able to take us... They are all dead now. 6/11/00 The same night our party encounters several more Dire wolves. One of which is quickly dispatched via fire. Also, Dirst catches up to the party having fallen a little behind. The following few days bring a bounty of encounters. The next day we begin scouting for ambushes and the like. Lylia, our premier scout (and lethal fighter) encounters two rather foolish goblins that have setup a roadside ambush. Dimak quickly formulates a plan to make sure that these goblins are dispatched quickly. Setting himself as bait Dimak travels the open road pretending to be an easy target. The others travel parallel to the road and come in behind the goblins. As the goblins spring their trap on Dimak the others race forward and do in the unsuspecting goblins. Excellent work by all! It was here and at the goblins campsite that we find another medallion matching the one that Dimak has and find out some additional information about it and the previous owner. We continue on and make fast work of 4 more Dire wolves thanks to Mak'era's surveys of the surrounding area from the air and her excellent use of spells and bow. Two days later we enter the village of Korsan and receive a hero's welcome. We enter the only inn in the village and Dirst provides a rousing oratory (lighting provided by Dimak) during which time we grow increasingly suspicious of the inn's owner Fred. Mak'era, not being able to handle the crowd, goes outside and meets Mary. Mary it seems is distraught do to her daughter, Margaret, being taken 3 days ago. Naturally, when the party hears this we inform Mary that we will get her daughter back. In the mean time, we continue trying to figure out what's the matter with Fred. It turns out that 1 month ago Fred changed drastically over night. As the party begins trying to figure out Fred, Lylia stumbles upon a horrifying revelation... Something is dying in Fred's room and the room is also a shambles. Suddenly our suspicions increase and out of desperation we try hypnotizing Fred, but the spell seems to have no effect! Tandorin does his little trick at the same time Mylena discovers that Fred smells reptilian! Fred leaves the room and Dirst follows which means we all follow. Blowing into Fred's room we discover him attempting to flee. After Mak'era blows a big hole through the wall, we pursue him outside where we find that Fred is actually a Drakonian! We make fairly quick work of him after several fumbles by Tandorin and quick thinking by Mylena to keep him grounded. Dimak fires the finishing shot and the Drakonian now looks like him. Upon inspection back inside the inn we find Fred's decaying body. 6/17/00 We clean up after the fight and have some of the townsfolk begin making repairs on the inn. The plan is to spend the night here and set off first thing in the morning to try to find those 5 missing men who left to search for Margaret 3 days ago. Upon coming into the stables in the morning we are faced with the sight of massacred horses... ours! Not to worry though, it turns out to be an illusion to mask the real event that transpired last night. Someone or something killed a large draft horse and took all it's blood. The illusion is incredibly powerful and now we fear that Margaret may be involved in a heinous evil ritual! We set out right away in search of the 5 missing men and Margaret. We encounter Margaret's dad clinging onto life, but pinned under his horse. After freeing him we send him home and set out with all precautions due to his warning of large goblin parties in the area. Mak'era does a little aerial reconnaissance and discovers 8 goblins patrolling the area. We attempt to set up an ambush, and after Mak'era turns a 50' tree invisible, she does the same to us. The goblins enter our little trap, and we dispatch them quickly and efficiently. A short time later Lylia proves her lethality again by killing a goblin sniper with the very arrow he shot her with. Do to all the ambushes that we begin to encounter, we hide the horses and go in on foot. We make it into the caves housing the goblins and Drakonians via our invisibility. It was rough going for a bit, but Tandorin kills another Drakonian, and we find our way to the stairs that will take us to Margaret thanks to the now invisible Flick. |
