This page was last updated: November 11, 2002, 11/2/02 As we are packing up the next morning Dimak notices a road leading to the south that we hadn't seen the previous evening, and it seems to have an aura of magic, and appears to be ancient and new at the same time. As he points it out to the others Garum, and Mek'era also notice it, but no one else. As we decide to follow the path to it's source, Garum decides that this is just a little too weird for him and says he is going to head out and may join us again later. The rest of the party sets off down the road with Mek'era flying reconnaissance above. After traveling for a few hours, the road 'materializes' and Mak'era spots a city ahead, but the city seems to be populated with Draconians! We stop traveling and begin to formulate a plan on what our next step is going to be. During this time we all begin to experience deja vu. Dimak and Mek'era sense a powerful source of magic from the direction of the city. Mek'era casts invisibility on herself and Dimak and she sense holes in the 'time/space continuum'. Dimak takes Mylina and heads back to the main trade road to see if they can get back to 'their time'. He tells the party that he will try to get back within half an hour. While they're gone, Mek'era heads out to find an available Draconian to interrogate, and finds a 'peasant' Draconian heading to the city. She hypnotizes him with a spell and brings him back to the party. Meanwhile, Dimak and Mylina see the road beginning to 'age', but then reverts back. Dimak tries traveling slower to see if things stay, and they do, but not before they make it back to where the main trade road should be. Unable to return to 'their time' Dimak and Mylina head back to the party. Dimak explains what the discovered and that they may be able to return if they travel slowly enough. As they discuss this and Mek'era, who is still invisible, and the peasant arrive as does Garum who has apparently been brought to 'our time' as well. The party begins to question the peasant and we learn that the city is called Drakos, and is ruled by Lord Ragnov. We find out that humans are considered slaves, and other races are simply food. Mylina makes the mistake of telling the peasant that she is a Drow, and he becomes violent saying that she will not get anywhere near the city and attempts to attack her, but Mek'era quickly calms him down and makes him forget what she just said. We then find out that there is a man sized blue crystal called the Source in the temple in the city, and the Draconians apparently rule the world. We also learn of a sentinel that protects the city... a dragon! He slumbers from a cave next to the temple. After completing our questioning, we agree that Mylina should go into the city with the peasant, and learn as much as she can, and Mek'era will fly overhead just in case. Mylina makes it into the city and discovers a thriving metropolis filled with Draconians and gets 'dropped off' in front of the temple. Mylina still invisible, and moving stealthily investigates the temple and sees many lords and ladies going in and out of the temple. She enters and finds the crystal and experiences it's power. Unfortunately, her presence so near the crystal causes a backlash of power and Mek'era and Dimak feel it. Dimak tries to follow the power surge back to the crystal and catches a glimpse of the temple room. Then he begins to focus and concentrate on the power flow to see if he can travel through the magic, or sense more within the power itself. |
