A
brief overview what  Rada Plesinger seen at the Shot Show

                                                                         2005 Shot show

I am going to try and give the reader a brief overview of what I seen at the show.  There were a lot of booths and I am sure I missed some that had airguns but not many,.  Also keep in mind I will try to be objective but it may not happen at all times.

Air Arms, had TGAG helping in their booth.  Brand new was a 10meter rifle a basic entry level perhaps a step up from the S200.  It is designed for NRA shooting program and some modifications are expected but not many.  What I thought was an interesting idea was the stock is two piece.  There is a nut on the bottom of the pistol grip. When removed the rear can be changed for a left handed shooter.  New was the TDR but that has been around for a year or so, and with the new trigger with the safety button..  Also on display was the power adjustment S410e-RB in the new stock.  One new small item I like to add is the 10shot magazine for the S200 in both calibers.

Airforce, had their model equipped with all the doo-dads that can be added.  It made it look like an impressive shooting machine. It seems to be a nice modular system.

Alfa-Proj, I believe had their first showing in the States.  Their airguns are imported by TGAG.  A new company that will have new models in the near future.

Anschutz, had a new compensator on their 10meter pistol, it still looks like a Styer to me.  The rifles looked the same with newer paint jobs.

Beeman, had the Theoben line absent from their stand and the catalog.  FWB is still with Beeman last year the P40 was new in a basic form and an upgrade with weights.  Also the Weinrauch line is going strong as springers.  Nothing new was noted.

BSA, was in the English section with all of the versions of the Super 10 featured.  Not that many springers.  But what I found interesting was a cut away of three of the moderators.  It gave a clue how relatively complicated they can be.

Crossman, seems to stick to firearm look alikes like Berretta, Colt, S&W, and Walther.  But precision at a distance or 10meter competition is just not to be found there.

EAA, had the popular IZH46M prominent.  Also a nice side level MP532, Drozd and some other break barrel rifles were there.  But again nothing new for the show.

Gamo, one thing I noticed how many 1000 fps rifles they seem to advertise.  In fact 10 rifles that either will hit 1000 fps or above, and only 4 that will shoot less.  The pistols still has the Compact as one of the most accurate in their catalog.

RWS, still has the standard line from Diana and a rather large addition of Mendoza rifles.  The Mendoza catalog shows 13 different rifles one even has a resemblance to the Red Ryder. The Mendoza line was the only new thing that I noticed.  Also the RWS has new packing for their pellets but that is it.

Shanghai Air Gun Factory, had a lot of interesting rifles in CO2 and springers.  I was looking expressly for the copy of the TX200 and the Daystate Huntsman.  But only the Huntsman was found no word on the TX at all.  They do have what seems like a copy of the HW77.  But the starting shooter can pick a rifle out of the 28 rifles featured in their catalog.

And that is about it, in my opinion and the industry’s, seems like all the new items are saved for the IWA show.  That show is in Nuremberg this year it will be in March around the 18th.  I know for a fact there will be representatives from almost all the air gun industry manufacturers and they all save the new stuff for that show.  This year it will be very interesting as I know at least four that will have brand new items.  I hope someone can go over and report on that event.

Thanks
Rada
