The
Chameleon lizard Shedds it skin, and becomes a Rada's Silhouette
Creation

CHAMELEON .177
This creation started when I was told the Chameleon is very hard
to scope for silhouette shooting. Here are the stats;
Barrel;
12 inches from E.A.P. from the front of the frame to the muzzle
with the compensator is 13.5 inches, 3 inches sit in the frame.
Compensator;
is from Top Gun Airguns (480) 513-3778 and normally belongs on a
Pro Target. No modification was made
Front end;
is French walnut also from Top Gun. This makes the pistol easier
to hold then by the weight normally provided. Conversion is
needed via adapter, also from Top Gun Airguns.
Scope rail;
is a standard 11mm rail that replaces the rear sight into the
existing screws. No modification needed. Also from T.G.A.G.
Scope rings;
these are see through type. From top of rail to the bottom of the
scope, 865. This leaves .100 of latch clearance to the bottom of
the scope. First ring is mounted 1.320 from the rear of the latch
for easier pellet loading.
Purchased at ;
no clue, found in a long forgotten bin in the work shop.
Scope;
is a 4X20 of unknown make. Seems like Chinese markings should be
on this item. Obtained as a trade for some airgun parts. Total
length 6.75 inches. It will focus down to <10 yards. Clarity
is not that great but more then functional.
Rifle stock; is
Myrtle wood, hand made, one of a kind. Why? Because someone
suggested it can not be done.
This set up will shoot almost any flat head pellet. So far that
is all that was tried. 14.3 grain flat head Crossmans will shoot
at 455 fps at 80 F. It is shot using the bulk fill option and the
tank left hanging from the grip. Either of the gray tanks or the
3.5 oz aluminum tank. For the later a adapter is needed from Mac-1.
