Featuring a classic neon sign and a panoramic view of the Hualapai Mountains, the Hill Top Motel beckons to overnight and short-term guests. The motel was featured in the November 2011 issue of ARIZONA HIGHWAYS magazine as one of the top 22 Retro places in Arizona.
The motel was awarded a Route 66 Preservation Grant under the 2014 grant cycle. This program is funded through the National Park Service. Window Airconditioners and Natural Gas Wall Heaters are being replaced with DIAKIN Mini-Split units. The equipment is installed and the final programming remains.
Many guests use our location as a central starting point for day trips to local and regional attractions. Kingman is proud to have two excellent museums The Powerhouse, and The Mohave Museum of History and Arts, along with the Bonelli House; these provide a glimpse into the history of this region. The motel, through special arrangements, has free museum passes available (only) for our guests who book their stay directly with our motel via phone or e-mail.
Others are new residents moving to the area who need short-term accommodations until their living-quarters are ready for occupancy. Over the course of the many years that I have been associated with the property, it is amazing the number of people who say that they, a relative, or someone they know stayed here when arriving in Kingman.
We also serve workers who are looking for a clean, quiet place to stay while working in the area.
Our location is in the center of Kingman, but the city is only a few blocks wide here, so one can quickly experience what Nature has given us.
Our rooms have block walls and are set back from the main street. The majority of the traffic is local, so it quiets down during the night. The street behind the motel is a dead end and indirectly services the 6 or so residences a block away. The BNSF Railroad tracks are located down in the canyon and we are located away from railroad surface crossings.
