Baum Lake

BAUM LAKE - Located near Crystal
Lake Fish Hatchery, Baum Lake is a well-stocked, hydroelectric impoundment. The
lake has rainbow, brown and brook trout. It is accessible from Cassel Road. Baum
can be fished from shore, floating devices or boats - though no gas motors are
allowed. Electric motors are okay. Baum does not have any special regulations,
so any method may be used. This lake has some very large fish, usually taken in
the winter months. Fish to 10 pounds are not uncommon, with the lake record
being a 23 pound, 5 oz. brown trout. 5-fish limit.
Directions:
Hwy 299 east from Burney to the
Cassel road turnoff, Go five miles to Baum Lake road.
