10/4/08 Finally some rain. Forecast shows some clouds, no rain predicted for the coming week. Fishing has been
extremely good for the past few days, with the exception of the Hat Creek wild trout section. Baum Lake, Cassel,
and the Pit have all been doing very well.

BAUM LAKE - BWO's seem to be the ticket for dries, while copper johns in green, Don's bug, and zebra midges
are doing well for nymph fishermen. Lure fishermen are doing well on just about anything. Bait fishermen still doing
best on crawlers or powerbait
CASSEL- Same flies as Baum Lake, with most fishermen hooking up. Bait fishermen are using crawlers and
salmon eggs. Lure fishermen are doing best on roostertails and panther martins.
LAKE BRITTON - Fishing has picked up with the cooler overnight lows. Crappie, smallies, blue gill all seem
ready to take your bait.
Wild trout section of HAT CREEK - Extremely tough - lots of fishing, but almost nonexistent catching.
Fair hatches of caddis, callibaetis. Nymph fishermen doing best with birds nest and copper john's in red or green.
PIT RIVER - Black or brown stone nymphs, though rubber leg Prince, AP blacks all doing well.
FALL RIVER - No recent reports, though olive seemed to be the color earlier in the week, for both wets
and dries.
