ABOUT LAKE ALMANOR WEST
Lake Almanor West is a 615 acre community located on the west shore
of scenic Lake Almanor, adjacent to California State Highway 89
a few
miles southwest of the town of Chester. In addition to the approximately
700 residential lots, the development includes a 9 hole golf
course, four
tennis courts, a beach/recreation area and a boat ramp. The
golf course
is open to the public, but all of the other facilities are private and
reserved
for property owner usage. The development began in 1974 and continues
to grow as a quiet community with its own water and fire protection services.
The West Almanor Community Club (WACC) is the property owners'
association of Lake Almanor West. As a Common Interest Development,
all property owners automatically become members of WACC. The organization
functions via a Board of Directors elected for a term of two years on
a rotating
basis, with elections held each year at the annual meeting scheduled
during
early July. Regular Board meetings are held monthly; notices are
posted on
community bulletin boards and at the WACC Office. Since every property
owner has a stake in the mutually-owned ("common") facilities, members
are encouraged to attend WACC meetings, participate in community
matters and act as good stewards of the development's resources.
