Who to Contact

Lake Almanor West is an "open" community without access gates or full-time
private security services.  The named streets are all county roads, subject to
the same rules and enforcement as streets in Chester or Quincy.  Basic law
enforcement  needs are handled by the Plumas County Sheriff's Office,
again just as found in Chester or Quincy.  California and Plumas County
codes are applicable throughout the area.  The West Almanor Community
Club (WACC) is responsible for the community-owned facilities and for
enforcement of the development's CC&Rs, but is otherwise not directly
involved in the majority of issues.  For assistance, consult the following:

Medical Emergency   ...  Call  9 1 1.

Fire   ...  To report a fire, call  9 1 1.   For routine  fire prevention matters, call the West Almanor Fire Hall at  259-5112.

Law Enforcement   ...  If it's an emergency, call  9 1 1.  To  report speeding, unsafe driving, etc., call the California Highway Patrol at 257-9605.  In the case of vandalism, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, firearms discharge within the development, fights, theft, etc., call the Sheriff at 258-3111 or 283-6375.

Renter Problems   ...  Excessive noise, destructive behavior, etc., should be reported to the homeowner (most of them are listed in the Community Directory), or call the Sheriff.

Dogs   ...  In the case of dogs running  loose, first call the owner of the dog and then, if the situation persists, call Plumas County Animal Control at 283-3673.  (Dogs running loose are indeed a violation of our  CC&Rs but we do not  have enforcement personnel and can only issue a notice of CC&R violation.)

Neighbor Disputes   ...  Try to work it out directly with the neighbor, or contact your lawyer.

WACC Property Problems   ...  If an emergency is involved, call the appropriate civil authority first.  Then call the Association Manager at 259-4646, or, as a last resort, call a WACC Board member.

Residents should understand that the WACC Board, Association Manager,
Architectural Compliance Inspector and WACC employees are neither
law enforcement or building code enforcement personnel.  The only
time that WACC management should be involved is when something
involves a CC&R issue or community-owned property or facilities.
