Group Membership Plan sponsored by LAWCC Auxiliary
Mercy Air Ambulance is owned by Petroleum Helicopters, Inc., doing business
as Mercy Air Ambulance based at 3775 Flight Ave., Redding, CA 96002. The
Mercy Air Membership Plan Office is located at 801-D Airport Way, Modesto,
CA 95354.
Helicopter - The plan applies to use of the helicopter within a 200-mile radius of Redding. The transfer can be between hospitals or from the field to a hospital. (Note: The Lake Almanor basin is within about 75 air miles from Redding.)
Fixed Wing - The plan applies to the
use of a fixed wing airplane within a 600-mile radius of Redding.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Members of the LAWCC Auxiliary may obtain
a household membership for $30 per year. Household members are full-time
residents of the specified household. The household location may be
changed, and household members deleted or added, by written notice to Mercy
Air.
HOW TO INITIATE SERVICE
Fixed Wing - If air ambulance transportatioon is required, notify your physician or the hospital staff of your membership and specifically request Mercy Air Ambulance Redding (Mercy Air is sometimes confused with other operators). The approval of medical professionals is required before a flight can be authorized.
Helicopter - For between-hospital transfers,
do as above. For accidents or other emergencies, call 911 to
activate the emergency system. Tell the dispatcher the nature of the emergency,
the location, and your phone number. Tell them you are a member of
Mercy Air Ambulance.
