I think I'll tell you a story of how I came to love my roses. When I was about eight, we moved from my Uncle and Aunt's in Hawthorne, CA, up to Salinas, CA and stayed with my mother's parents. Grandpa loved his roses. He had rows of them in the back yard! He'd spend hours tending them. They smelled so good and he had about every color you could think of. Grandpa is the reason we ended up moving to Kingman. He had a heart problem and was told to move to drier weather, viola! Here I am still here in the double wide trailer they bought and set up on three lots! I bought the place from their estate because I love it here. It is my roots and my life! My memories of my grandfather who was right up in the hero stage like Uncle Gene.

I have one of the roses that I got from Uncle Gene's yard now, he only had a few roses but I'm glad I at least have one from his yard. Seems it is just the throw back of the original rose. A rambling red rose that climbs well and I will keep it and give extra's as it spreads to my family because they did come from a loved uncle.

I buy most of my roses at Home Depot or Walmart. I've gotten a couple at Lowe's or at Plant World in Las Vegas, Nevada. I ordered my first Zephrine Drouhin from Jackson & Perkins and then by chance found the second at Walmart.

As I put new pages with descriptions and rose pictures on here I will be puttting the little sign in with the rose names to make it easier to tell which has newest photo's. I haven't taken any new photo's this year because honestly, I haven't had the time. I have full yard pictures on my yahoo site on the index page if you want to keep up with more current yard photo's.
